YOUTH AND TEEN DIVISIONS TEAM CHECK IN (12 Team Tournament each Division)

Youth and Teen Division will began play Friday @ 6pm with team check in time @ 5:30pm for T shirt give outs,  Introduction to Dribbling with Stribling and reiteration of tournament rules. Championship games will be played Saturday morning @ 9am. Please arrive Saturday (August 26th) at 8:45am for 9am start time.

ADULT DIVISION TEAM CHECK IN (16 Team Tournament)

Adult Division games will began and end play Saturday, August 26th with start time @ 12pm with team check in @ 11:30am for T shirt give outs, Introduction to Dribbling with Stribling and reiteration of tournament rules.

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

The following rules have been designed to ensure fair play for all participants. Each player is expected to understand these rules prior to participation in the tournament. Any questions concerning these rules should be directed to the Dribbling with Stribling staff. 

​

Apparel:

Each player should bring a white and black shirt for play.

​

Brackets Size:

12 Team Tournament for each Youth  and Teen  Division and 16 team Tournament for Adult Division

 

Prior to the Game:

Each team must have three to five players on its roster who have registered their team by the predetermined entry deadline. Additions and/or changes to any roster must be approved by Dribbling with Stribling staff member and completed prior to the start of a team's first game of the event. No substitutions are allowed once a team has played its first game of the event. A player is allowed to participate for only one team in each division for the duration of the tournament.  All games must start with three players on each team, unless a team with three players agrees to allow the opposing team to play with only two players.

First Possession/Start of Play:

First possession will be determined by coin toss. The ball must be checked and thrown in (not dribbled) from behind the arc of three point line.

​

Division Play:  

2 GAME ELIMINATION FOR ALL DIVISIONS. There is a winners and losers bracket, if you win the loser bracket you have a chance to play back in the winners bracket. 

​

Length of Games:

Youth and Teen Division: Game up to 7 or highest score after 10 minute running clock. 2 (30 seconds) timeouts. 

Adult Vision:  Game up to 11 or highest score after 10 minute running clock. 2 (30 seconds) timeouts.  

​

Overtime: 

If the score is tied at the end of the game a 3 point match shot will determines which team has the initial possession. The game winner is the first to score at least 2 points in the overtime period. 2nd half team fouls carry over to overtime.

​

No Make it Take it/Substitutions:

The ball changes possession after each scored basket.  During any time out, dead-ball or changed of possession after a score a substitution is allowed. 

​

Stalling:

No stalling is allowed. The referee may institute a 24 second shot clock at any time. After a team has been warned about stalling, failure to attempt a shot within 24 seconds will result in loss of possession.

​

Out of Bounds/Change of Possession/Take Back:

The ball must be "checked" on every dead ball, out of bounds and change of possession AFTER a made basket.  You must take back the ball after every shot attempt from the opposing team.  If on defense and your team gets a STEAL or the opposing team shoots an AIR-BALL no take back is necessary.  You can get your own teams rebound and take back up.

Scoring:

Baskets made from inside the arc count as 1 point. Baskets made when the shooter has BOTH FEET behind the arc count as 2 points. Referees will call “two points”.

​

Fouls/Free Throws:

There will be no personal fouls counted, only team fouls.  Team fouls #1 - 5  you check the ball at top of the key unless its a shooting foul.  Team fouls 6 + result in automatic 1 and 1 free throw. In the last 2 minutes after the 2nd foul its an automatic 1 and 1 free throw for opposing team.  When fouled in the act of shooting, a free throw is awarded to the fouled shooter. You get 1 foul shot if inside the arc and 2 if outside the arc.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME:

Same rules but unlimited time frame and must win by 2.

This is a Dribbling with Stribling Fundraiser Event. Please no profanity or abusive behavior toward officials, tournament staff, or each other from players or fans. Players/fans violating this rule will be ejected for the duration of the tournament. Unruly fan or player behavior may also result in games being stopped and potential forfeit if deemed necessary. If a fan or parent is ejected from the tournament, the player or child associated with the fan or parent will be ejected as well for the duration of the tournament.
